News and Awards
The
Utah Valley State College Online Global Aviation Degree Program received
a national award from the University Continuing Education Association
(UCEA) for its innovative and quality curriculum and support system.
The award was presented Oct. 2, at the Western Region meeting of UCEA
in Las Vegas, Nevada. The award is for the Innovative Credit Program category
in UCEA’s annual awards.
“This honor is very prestigious and represents the type of quality
learning that UVSC provides for its online students,” says Dr. Ron
Smart, Director of the Global Aviation Degree Program at UVSC. “Reviewers
thought the courses and entire program were outstanding,” according
to Smart.
The University Continuing Education Association is the most important
body representing distance and continuing education in the United States.
Previously, UCEA awarded a National Meritorious Achievement Award to the
course Survey of Aviation Science, the first course in the Aviation Science
Curriculum.

Green without
envy.
U.S. News & World
Report has just ranked
UVSC among the top five comprehensive
public four-year colleges in the West.
UVSC is the fastest growing higher education institution in Utah 5 years
running. We offer 32 bachelor's degree programs and a wide range of associate
degrees. We've experienced a 40% drop in the number of students transfering
to other colleges, and an increase in those tranferring to UVSC. Our campus
boasts the largest LDS Institute program in the world. In athletics, UVSC
just became the first member of the NJCAA to make the jump directly to Division
I of the NCAA. Yet, with all our growth, our focus hasn't changed. We still
maintain small class sizes and faculty dedicated to student.
U.S. News & World Report has just given our 24,000 students another
reason to be proud to be green. But not with envy. Get
